MOSCOW, June 3 – RIA Dagestan. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko convened a meeting of the Government Commission on Tourism Development to address large-scale federal investment projects, with the main focus on building year-round resorts as part of the "Five Seas and Lake Baikal" program.
As to the top official, the initiative is the country's foremost public-private tourism partnership, with year-round seaside resorts being developed across Russia, all regions and projects having been endorsed by President Vladimir Putin. Chernyshenko noted that the national project "Tourism and Hospitality" allocated over RUB 100 billion to these efforts, distributed among regions to create modern tourism infrastructure and called for continued attraction of private investment.
As the program accelerates, regions move beyond design into construction and methodically attract private capital. One of its central initiatives is the "Caspian Coastal Cluster" designed to create new accommodation options, a modern embankment and sports and entertainment venues. Construction of the cluster's first elements—a multifunctional center, utility systems and roads—is already in progress. With the signing of 25 investment agreements worth RUB 112 billion, more than 7,000 hotel rooms will be created. The federal portfolio of projects further includes the "Pearl of Siberia," a new nationwide thermal resort in Tyumen Oblast.
